On May 2nd, the reporter learned from the International Tea Committee that Yuyangguan Town in WufengTujia Autonomous Countywas awardedthe World Tea-Themed Tourism AncientTown.

　　It is knownthat the Wufeng Yuyangguan Townwas once the most famous black tea market in western Hubeiand manytea merchants from Hunan and Guizhouprovinces came to Yuyangguan for the famous Yihong tea. Yuyangguan Townwas thennamed “little Hankou”for its prosperouscommerce. At the peak of the year, the export volume of black tea reached nearly 120 tons butit declined later due to the war. In recent years, the comprehensive output value of Wufengtea industry has exceeded 2 billion yuan. Through the establishment of the “national key tea market”—the southwest tea market, Yuyangguan Town has become a large tea distribution center in the surrounding provincesmaking it the key link for the “going out” of Hubei tea.
