On May 7, the reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce that in the first quarter, the total export volume of the whole city increased by 12.4% compared with the same period last year, ranking the second placein the province and successfully achieving a “good start”; there were 18 enterprises with export value of more than $5 million and 14 enterprises with more than $10 million in Yichang.

　　From the perspective of the export product structure, the exports of chemical products decreased by 39% at 105.013 million US dollars; the exports of bio-pharmaceutical products increased by 18.1% at 52.103 million US dollars; the exports of electronic products increased by 53.2% at 45.63 million US dollars ; the exports of agricultural products increased by 3.8 % at 45.631 million US dollars.

　　From the perspective of export countries, the economic and trade cooperation between the city and the countries along “the Belt and Road” Initiatives is relatively close. The exports to the 53 countries along the route were 218 million U.S. dollars, with an increase of 21.2% year-on-year. In terms of country and urban areas, eleven countries and municipalities, such as Yiling District, maintained growth in exports. Amongthem, the growth rate of Yiling, Xiling, Dianjun, Hi-tech Zone, and Wufeng increased by more than 90%.

　　Since last year, our city has opened the “Yichang-Wuhan-Europe” international freight trains and Yichang Sanxia Airport has newly opened the first all-cargo air route, which provided the smooth channel for expanding the total export volume and optimizing the export structure, and boosted the Yichang’s transformation of high-quality development.
