According to the press conference of Quyuan’s hometown Dragon Boat Cultural Festival held in Wuhan. on May 24th, 2018,the 2018 Quyuan’s hometown Dragon Boat Festival co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and People's Government of Hubei Province will be held in Yichang this Junewithits opening ceremony to be held on June 15th in Zigui County of Quyuan’s hometown. Liu Weiling, member of Yichang Municipal Standing Committee and deputy mayor, attended the press conference and introduced relevant information of the Festival.

　　It is informed that, with the theme of Chinese Dragon Boat Festival &Poetic Yichang, the 2018 Quyuan’s Hometown Dragon Boat Cultural Festival will include totally 16 activities of five major exciting topics, such as opening ceremony & Dragon Boat sacrifice, intangible cultural inheritance activity of Chinese Dragon Boat Festival in Yichang, and Poetic Yichang, tourism marketing & promotion activities, and a cross-strait cultural exchange activity themed Eating zongzi to celebrate the festival and inherit the Culture, etc.

　　On the morning of June 15thwhenthe opening ceremony & Dragon Boat sacrifice are held in Zigui County, some traditional dancing activities highly favored by the masseswillbe performed such as Dragon Boat sacrifice dance and ceremony completing dance.Taking poetry as the soul, the ceremony will fully demonstrate the unique Dragon Boat Festival customs and profound poetry cultural heritage of Quyuan’s hometown. With the theme of Chinese Dragon Boat Festival and Poetic Yichang, five sub-activities are to be host during the serial Poetic Yichang cultural activities, including the poetry conference for Dragon Boat Festival, the mass reading classics, recitation art competitions, collection of photography and poetry creation for Poetic Yichang, famous poets going grassroots, etc.Famous contemporary poets, well-known recital artists and people from all walks of life will come together to comprehend beauty of poetry and cherish the memory of Quyuan, thus to enjoy the unique charm of the poetry city.
