The theme activities of “2018 Yichang Environmental Protection Campaign” and “June 5th----Environment Day” were launched on June 5. Liu Xuefu, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Deputy Director of Yichang Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, Kong Fusheng, Deputy Director, and Lu Jun, Deputy Mayor of Yichang City, attended the launching ceremony.

　　It was the 47th World Environment Day on June 5, and the theme of the environment day was "Advocating the Use of Phosphate-free Detergents." During the ceremony, the entrepreneur representatives of Yichang promised to prohibit the sale of phosphorus-containing products and eco-friendly citizens and environmental protection volunteers respectively read the environmental protection proposal. And the non-phosphorus household products were displayed to the public by the environmental protection volunteers to appeal to the public to purchase non-phosphorus detergents, as a start to actively participate in the environmental protection and jointly maintain the green mountains and clean water. Liu Xuefu and Lu Jun respectively conferred flags for the Environmental Protection Campaign interview delegation and the environmental protection volunteers.

　　It was learnt that the theme of Yichang Environmental Protection this year is to "Promoting Environmental Protection and the High-quality Development of Yichang City." From June to August, a series of activities will be conducted, focusing on the inspection for the protection of the Yangtze River, retrospection of solving prominent environmental problems, “inspection” on the implementation of relevant laws and regulations, and “review ”of the protection and governance of the ecological environment.
