2018-07-16 15:06:23

The Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Committee has recently issued the central-government-funded investment plan for the 2018 Yangtze River Economic Belt Green Development Project. 48 million yuan has been approved for the anti-pollution pipeline engineering for substandard water in the urban area in Yichang City.

The fund is mainly used to protect and repair the vulnerable ecological environment of the Yangtze River, and promote ecological and green development of the Yangtze River Belt. According to the plan, before the end of 2018, the urban built-up area of cities of the prefecture level or above and along the Yangtze River Economic Belt will start working and treat around 90% of substandard water body. By the end of 2020, the substandard water will be basically eliminated. Seven rivers are involved in the anti-pollution pipeline engineering project of Yichang City, including Yunchi River, Paifang River, Bailin River, Ziyang River, Juanqiao River, Changling River, and Lianpeng River. The main purpose of this project is for the construction of anti-pollution pipeline and sewage pump station. The project started construction last August, and is expected to be fully completed by December. The project investment totals at around 180 million yuan. After completion of the project, the water quality of the river will be greatly improved, and the water ecological environment will be favorably improved, thus contributing to optimization of the human living environment and green development level of the city as well.
