For a passenger taking a wheelchair, or pushing a stroller,or who is disabled, the staff at the BRT bus stop can open the gate for them, allowing them to enter the platform safely and quickly. But when the bus stops at the platform and the security door opens, the gap between the platform and the bus causes some problems to those passengers.

　　In order to provide assistance for these special passengers,the BRT administration has managed to design a device which can help resolve this problem.After many trials and modifications, a device called barrier-free pedal has been successfully invented. Itis 60 cm long and 50 cm wide, weighing 13 kg. It is made of stainless steel and has a striking yellow coating. Its arch design has enabled the passengers-in-wheelchair to get on and off safely, and the handle is installed on both sides to facilitate the operation of the staff.
