The 2018 National Science Popularization Day in Yichang City was launched on the morning of September 14. At the opening ceremony, 20 city science and education bases were awarded, and the Xiling District detachment of Yichang Science Popularization Volunteer Service Group was granted the flag, and a special science and art performance was presented on spot.

　　Since 2003, according to the overall economic and social development and the actual demands of the public and daily life, a large number of diverse, lively and fruitful science activities have been conducted, which have built a popular science brand with high public participation, wide coverage and strong social influence.

　　This year's Science Popularization Day is co-sponsored by the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Municipal Science and Technology Association, the Municipal Education Bureau, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Economic and Information Committee, and the Xiling District Government. The theme is “Innovation leads the times and wisdom lights up life”, guided by which, the organizers at all levels of the city will jointly organize a series of activities such as on-site publicity on science popularization day, popular science into the school, community and countryside, and joint action of popular science caravans. And all the above efforts will push forward the development concept “innovation, coordination, greenness, openness, sharing” of new era deeply rooted in the hearts of the people and improve the scientific literacy of the whole people.
