　　According to reports, based on the Implementation Measures for Serious Diseases Care and Relief in Urban Area of Yichang City, the conditions for applying for the project are as follows: the residents who suffer from any serious disease in the previous year and whose household registrations are in Yichang urban area (including those people whose household registrations are not in the urban area but are managed by Yichang High-tech Zone) can apply for the project; the patientswhose basic medical expenses are incurred at the designated hospital of medical insurance in Yichang urban area or incurred when the patient are approved by the medical insurance institution to be hospitalized in another place and when the expenses are settled at the end of medical treatment, and the patients whose self-funded part is over 30 thousand yuan and accounts for more than 50% of the family’s annual income after enjoying basic medical insurance, serious disease insurance, secondary reimbursement, commercial insurance reimbursement and government medicalrelief can apply for the project; the patients who enjoy the China Charity Federation’s drug assistance program and whose self-funded medical expenses are more than 30,000 yuan and account for more than 50% of the family’s annual income can also be included in the scope of serious diseases care and relief.Residents who have benefited from the city’s major diseases care and relief in the previous year cannot apply for assistance in the project the following year.
