On September 19th, news from the sixth municipal conference, whose theme was “To keep in mind the spirit of the plenary, to implement the spirit of the plenary session, and to write a new chapter of Yichang’s high-quality development in the new era”, that, Xiling District, in accordance with the development direction of "Service economy as the dominating role, headquarters economy as the leading role, urban industry as the pushing role", has been speeding up the transformation and upgrading of industry, growing the real economy, promoting the development of high quality and Yichang new Guomao operational key commercial and trade enterprises.

　　According to the introduction, the new Guomao with a total investment of 650 million RMB plans to start its trail operation on October 1. And the new Guomao project is composed of 61,000 square meters Guomao building, 69,000 square meters Guomao phase 3 and 20,000 square meters Guomao south building (Yichang shopping mall), with a total area of 150,000 square meters. The project is a combination of new construction, reconstruction and renovation, of which, the third phase construction of Guomao is 500 million yuan, Guomao old building is 100 million RMB, and the south building is 50 million RMB.

　　The third phase of Guomao started in September of 2016 and was capped before the Spring Festival in 2018; the South Building of Guomao was closed on March 15 this year; the old building of Guomao began to be renovated partially in March, and totally closed on August 15th. Now only the first floor supermarket is open. New Guomao Group will create more than 2,000 new jobs, and the annual sales growth is expected to reach 80-150%.
