On October 8th, the Yichang 2050 Development Strategic Planning college student design competition was officially launched. And RMB 150,000 will be spent to invite teams from universities and colleges across the country to draw a blueprint for Yichang's development in the next 30 years.

　　An urban planning concept design will be carried out in the competition with the theme of “Yichang 2050”. Entries for the contest must have be a complete planning and design with both macro and micro contents ranging from concept to plan, including the following three aspects: propose a development vision of Yichang as the world hydro-power tourism city, the regional central city in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and the sub-center city of Hubei Province; put forward a general and structural planning for the spatial layout of the urban planning area; choose one of the four typical spaces to make an urban design for a block of about 3 square kilometers.

　　According to reports, comprehensive awards, special awards and finalist awards with totalprize money of 150,000 yuan will be given out in the competition, and registration for participation ends at 17:00 on October 11th. The organizing committee will review the registration materials and qualifications of the participating teams, and will distribute relevant materials from October 13th to 14th and organize on-site surveys.
