On Oct.12, the “Yihong”global promotion and brand revitalization event sponsored by Hubei Provincial Department of Agriculture and the People’s Government of Yichang City and jointly hosted by YichangMunicipal Agricultural Bureau, thePeople’s Government of Yiling District, Xiao’s Tea Group, Caihua Tea Company, Dengcun Green Tea Company and Yidu Black Tea Company wasofficially launched in the picturesque East Lake Hotel in Wuhan. Up to now, the area of Yichang tea has reached 959,700 mu, with a production of 74,700 tons and a comprehensive output value of nearly 11 billion RMB. The area and output of tea hold the secondplacein Hubei province, ranking first in the comprehensive benefits in the province.
At the promotion meeting, Dengcun Township in Yiling District was awarded the title of“core production area of ‘Yihong Tea’and the birthplace of ‘cream down’phenomenon”. According to the introduction, located at 30 degrees north latitude, Yiling District is the gold industry belt of teaand the birthplace and core production area of Yihong black tea,which is the “quality and safety demonstration zone of national citrus and tea export”. The tea industry in the whole district covers 145 villages in 8 townships, with a total area of 234,000 Mu and a total output of 24,300 tons, and its comprehensive strength ranks in the forefront of Hubei Province.
A number of tea industry projects with international leading level, such as tea tourism town and Kawasakitea machinery, started construction in the Three Gorges Tea Industrial Park in Yiling District in September this year. The tea industry has become a veritable green sunrise industry in Yichang, which plays a very important role in driving farmers to increase income, targeted poverty alleviation, improving agricultural benefit and rural green.
During this event, large buyers from many countries such as Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia signed a procurement agreement with many production enterprises of Yichang “Yihong”,including the Xiao’s Tea Group, with the purchase amount reaching 280 million RMB realizing the efficient connection of economic and trade channels between “Yihong” tea and countries along“The Belt and Road”.
