Good news came from the 2018 China Forest City Construction Symposium held in Shenzhen on Oct. 15, that Yidu City was awarded the title of "A National Forest City", which makes Yidu City the first county-level city in Hubei Province to receive this honor.

　　In 2016, Yidu City submitted the application of construction report, determined to build a foundation for high-quality development by taking the establishment of "A National Forest City" as the starting point to force Yidu City to achieve ecological rehabilitation, environmental protection and green development. Over the past three years, Yidu City has always adhered to the concept of forest-city co-construction, rural-urban integration, city of mountains and rivers and people-culture cultivation, and taking the lead in the construction of "National Forest City". Up to now, the forest coverage rate, per capita park green area, road greening rate and water bank greening rate in Yidu City have reached 59.32%, 14.11 square meters, 90.8% and 81.28% respectively, all of which are higher than the national standards.
