The 2018 National Partner-Assistance for Green Development Work Symposiumand Cooperation Project Signing Event was held in Yichang on 24 Oct. The supporting party and receiving party signed 48 projects with a total investment of 30.73 billion yuan at the meeting. Hebei province was supported by 32 projects with an investment of 20.59 billion yuan, of which 21 signed projects in Yichang with an investment of 18.64 billion yuan. Wei Shanzhong, vice minister of Ministry of Water Resources, Zhou Ji, member of the Standing Committee of Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Yichang Municipal Committee, and Li Mingqing, vice mayor of Chongqing attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

　　Representatives from 30 provinces and cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Liaoning, and those from the Three Gorges Reservoir Areaattended the meeting. Zhang Peng, vice mayor of Yichang, made a speech. Luo Yi, secretary of the Party Committee of the Three Gorges Working Committee, attended the relevant activities.

　　Wei Shanzhong stressed that under the leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council over the past 26 years, all provincial and municipal counterparts, party committees and governments of the Three Gorges Reservoir Areahave worked hard together to carry out national partner assistance work, which greatly promoted the development of social undertakings, improved the infrastructure, optimized and upgraded the industrial structure, developed the level of human resources, and enhanced the sense of well-being of immigrants in Reservoir Area. It is hoped that they can grasp the new requirements, complete the new mission, further implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on poverty alleviation, and promote national partner assistance for the green development of the three Gorges Reservoir area and deepen industrial cooperation with the support for immigrations increased, the talent assistance and intellectual offering strengthened to help the reservoir area fight against poverty, making new contributions to the construction of the beautiful Three Gorges.

　　Entrusted by Jiang Chaoliang, Secretary of Hebei Province and Wang Xiaodong, Governor of Hubei province, Zhou Ji, on behalf of the Party Committee of Hubei province, the Provincial Government, the Municipal Party Committee of Yichang and the people of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Water Resourcesand the counterpart provinces and cities for their strong support to Yichang and Hubei. He said that in the new era, the development of the Three Gorges reservoir area has also stepped on a new stage. It is hoped that the Ministry of Water Resources and other ministries, provinces and cities, and friends of entrepreneurs will continue to support the construction of the reservoir area. Hubei and Yichang will not forget their kindness and take advantage of the chance to develop. Guided by Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, we will adhere to the ecological priority and green development, improve the people’s livelihood of the reservoir area, and strive to build a modern industrial system and the sustainable development of the reservoir area, making contributions to the harmonious and the long-term stability of the Three Gorges area as well as the Three Gorges Project.

　　Zhang Peng said that Yichang will take this Symposium as an opportunity to further promote the infrastructure construction and people’s livelihood in the Three Gorges area by taking advantage of the support from the counterpart provinces and cities. Every cent of the support fund will be spend on where it is most needed to make the residents of the Three Gorges Reservoir areahave more sense of gains. Business environment will be improved continuously for the investment of counterpart enterprises in the Reservoir area and resettlement areas, realizing the mutual benefits. Meanwhile, Yichang will make further efforts to enhance the exchanges with our counterpart provinces and cities and cooperate with them at a better start, higher level to achieve complementary advantages, mutual benefits and development.

　　The event, themed with “Deepening the Cooperation of Partner Assistance in the New Era and Promoting Green Development in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area”, was jointly sponsored by Ministry of Water Resources, Hubei Provincial Government and Chongqing Municipal Government. It was the first large-scale partner assistance event held since the former Three Gorges office under the State Council was merged into the Ministry of Water Resources.

　　At the meeting, the representatives from Shanghai, Beijing, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Xingshang County, Yichang, Wanzhou County, Chongqing, Jiangsu AB Group., Hubei Jisheng Textile Technology, Zhejiang Wankai New Materials was on behalf of the two sides in exchange for speeches.
