Wonderful Yichang Marathon, Cheerful City.

　　At 14 o'clock, the 4th of November, with the completion of the races, "Yichang Marathon" entered the final stage. Volunteers and staff are still working for the competition. Under their guidance, the players and citizens left the track and the venue in order.

　　“We organized a team of 300 people to join the atmosphere of ‘Yichang Marathon’, and we had planned to pick up the garbage on the spot, but we could hardly see any rubbish along the way.” Li Shuangxi, head of the “Three Gorges Ant Worker”, said emotionally.

　　No Garbage Seen on the Spot

　　“Yichang is really a livable city.” Sun Kuan, a half marathon player from Wuhan, said that this marathon experience raised his affection for Yichang. After the competition, the street is still very clean and tidy. Yichang’s urban management and citizens behaviors are also the 'champions'."

　　Indeed, behind is the effort of city management, and demonstration of Yichang civilization .

　　As early as 4 am to 7 am, the Xiling District Urban Management Bureau had got the three collection vehicles ready in the vicinity of Darunfa market in Binjiang Park to collect and sort out the garbage of the competition package. The Wujiagang District Urban Management Bureau also placed two collection vehicles to collect and sort out the packages; and the Dianjun Urban Management Bureau was responsible for arranging two spray sprinklers on Jiangcheng Avenue. At the same time, in order to facilitate the public to discard the garbage, 241 trash cans were added along the track.

　　“During the marathon, the urban management departments of Xiling District, Wujiagang District and Dianjun District increased the emergency cleaning force into the track service, and timely arranged to pick up the garbage on and around the track. After the game, the operators concentrated on the cleaning and ensured immediate clean and tidy on the road.” The relevant person in charge of the city management committee introduced.

　　“Ten thousand people take part in the Yichang Marathon. We come to watch the competition, not only to be enthusiastic, but also to show the civilized image of Yichang.” Xiong Jun, a citizen, said that Yichang is a national civilized city and “civilization” has become the lifestyle of Yichang people. The concept is deeply rooted in people's hearts, and everyone should become a participant and builder of beautiful city.

　　Passing On the Power Heartedly

　　“Come on, come on”, “You are the best”, citizens on both sides of the track were cheering for the marathoners simultaneously, which was also a beautiful scene of “Yima”

　　More than 500 volunteers, coming from Xiling District, Wujiagang District and Dianjun District, scattered at the starting line, finishing line and the track, in the form of banging the drum and waist drum, and performing the lion dance to boost the morale of marathoners and lit up the atmosphere.

　　On both sides of the marathon track, the volunteers and staff were stationed in their respective positions. 2,270 volunteers were distributed throughout the course, providing various services, like counselling, materials, medical care, logistics and so on; over 1,380 traffic police escorted "Yima"; a security team with more than 1,600 police officers and 400 armed police forces maintained the order and safety on the scene; medical volunteers served more than 2,900 marathoners on site; and 66 buses were dispatched to ensure transportation services...

　　The service standard measured the soft power of marathon. Assembled at 4: 30 am., the volunteers and staff went to their post until all the marathoners left. They are the spokesperson of Yichang, demonstrating the highly civilization of Yichang and passing on the power of this city, which attracts the marathoners so much that they said that “I will come back to Yichang”.

　　A civilized city running into runners’ heart

　　Wang Yihao, whose hometown is Enshi, has lived in Guangzhou for 6 years. He will pass Yichang when he come back to Enshi. In Yima, he was not only felt the hospitality of Yichang people, but also the civilization of Yichang, and he said that, “What touched me most is that the drivers are stop initiatively and give way to presidents when people cross the road.”

　　For Zhu Ziheng, a member of Wuhan Walking and Running Team, this is his second time to participate in Yichang Marathon. This time, he ran in Yima with more than 300 members of his team. When it came to his feelings about the competition, he did not hesitate to praise: "Yichang has so many beautiful scenes, and Yichang people are very kind. I feel very comfortable here. Running marathon in Yichang is such a pleasure.”

　　Zhang Guowei, who comes from Nanchang City, Jiangxi, said, “I finished a full marathon in Xi’an last week, and I’ll have another one in Nanchang”. Even though he was 71 years old, he was a well-known sportsman. He said, “Actually, I have run marathon in different provinces every week. But in my mind, Yichang is the best choice for Marathon participants, and I’ll come back here next year”.

　　“Running Drives Power, Civilization Beautifies Yichang. With the end of “Yima”, I think the civilization of Yichang deserves a gold medal!”, Lu Hongchen said, who was a member of Chinese Veteran Marathon Club.
