The reporter learned on December 17 that Yichang was honored as "an advanced city for promoting BRT development in China", and Yichang Bus Group was selected as "the advanced group to promote the development of BRT in China" on December 14, in the "2018 BRT annual meeting via BRT construction exchange annual meeting" held in Zhuzhou, Hunan province.

　　The Yichang BRT project has linked Yiling Bus Terminal in the north and Yichang East Station in the south. Since the operation of BRT, Yichang Bus Group has successively introduced services including Major Station Express, BRT Branch Line and Transit Line based on the city’s network planning. It has formed an operation system with one corridor and 34 branch lines. With 34 free transit branch lines, the free transit rate has reached 32% to 48%, realizing a larger traffic volume and a faster speed of regular public transportation. The departure speed has been lifted from 10-15 km per hour to 20-25km per hour, and the travel time has been reduced from 92 minutes to 59 minutes. The daily passenger traffic volume has reached 350,000, accounting for 63% of the whole city. The project has also realized a zero-distance transit between railway, highway and city bus.

　　At present, the Yichang BRT project has become an important regional corridor linking the three regions of Yichang (Yiling District, Xiling District, Wujiagang District)，and one of the four major arteries of the core area of Yichang city from north to south, as well as one of the main passenger transportation corridors with the most condensed passenger flow at the present.Along the line, there are a large number of development blocks of commerce, offices, residence and other types, which has made it an important attraction of the city’s transportation.
