At 8: 00 p.m. on Dec. 14th, a young patient with dizziness, nausea and fatigue was sent to the emergency department of the Central Hospital after taking a bath. Having been checked by doctors, the patient was diagnosed of carbon monoxide poisoning. After some symptomatic treatment, the patient is now returning to normal.
Zhang Rong, the emergency department director of Central Hospital, introduced that winter is aseason of high incidence of carbon monoxide poisoning. She noted that people must open the window for ventilation when bathing and heating at home. Once a person is found unconscious or vomiting, he must immediately be moved to a well-ventilated place and kept warm, lying without pillow. His head should be put to one side for smooth breathing so that suffocation caused by accidental respiration of vomit can be prevented.Meanwhile, 120 should be dialed at once.
