During New Year's Day holiday, a long-awaited snow performed the best show, drawing a full end to the winter in 2018.A large number of Yichang citizens and tourists were attracted by various unique folk activities and interesting winter tourism products offered during this holiday. Yichang City totally received 822,600 tourists during the three-day vacation, achieving tourism income of 350 million yuan,according to Yichang City Holiday Office.

　　Folk cultural activities with the theme of Annual Pork Banquet (Mature pigs will be slaughtered and made into delicious dishes as part of the tradition to celebrate the arrival of the Chinese New Year.) drew many tourists to savor a bite of Yichang. The Dream Lantern Festival lit up the night of Zhaojun Village in Xingshan County with ten thousands of lights. Annual Pork Banquet with the title of “Delicacies in The Thatched Cottage” held in Chaotianhou Rafting Scenic Spot attracted hundreds of visitors from Yichang, Jingzhou,Jingmen and Chongqing to share the feast including fresh steamed pork in a round lattice and a hanging hot pot of pork.Many activities were favored by the tourists such as Cultural Festival of Annual Pork Banquet and Spring Festival Customs in Zigui County,Annual Pork Banquet in Yuan’an County,Blessing Tour at Mingfeng Mountain and Hot Spring Tour at the Gate of Wuling Gorge.Bubusheng Scenic Spotin Zhijiang City invited tourists to experience traditional Chinese culture including watching Village Opera(village theatrical performance given on religious festivals in old times) at Concentric Flower Sea and enjoying all-fish feast. Fuyu Mountain and other theme Bed and Breakfasts at Yiling District,popular on the internet,became must-see resorts for the tourists.

　　Winter tourism activities in Yichang such as skiing emerged around New Year's Day one after another, allowing the general public to fully enjoy winter time in their hometown. With the opening of China Ice and Snow Conference Fun Game of the Fifth National Ice and Snow Season 2018-2019 (Yichang, Hubei Province) at Wufeng International Ski Resort, tourists both at home and abroad flocked to open the curtain of ice and snow carnival. Some new activities such as playing with snow, snowmobile, snow circle and night skiing were launched at Bailihuang Ice and Snow World Ski Resort at Yiling District,attracting 15,000 tourists to “taste the fresh fun”during the New Year's Day period. Here, full of children’s naiveness and playfulness, the Fun skiing Game of Hubei Kids Snow Balance Bicycle New Year's Carnival saw thousands of children with helmet and ski suit race in the field on their balance bicycles, which became a wonderful scenery in winter.

　　According to statistics,the holiday saw a total of 52,900 tourists from five major scenic spots monitored by the whole city,achieving ticket sales of 3.4612 million yuan. Among them, the Three Gorges Dam received 5400 tourists, Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Spot 7100, Qingjiang River Gallery Scenic Resort 24,700, Quyuan's hometown 10,700 and Xiling Gorge Scenic Spot 5,000.
