2019-02-25 11:29:50

E-commerce industry in Yichang is burgeoning, its turnover easily exceeding 150 billion yuan. On February 11, it was reported by the Municipal Bureau of Commerce that the e-commerce transactions of the city reached 153 billion yuan last year, a 23% year-on-year growth, and the e-commerce industrial parks have achieved a full coverage.

The city has accelerated the construction of its key e-commerce projects. Up to now, 13 e-commerce industrial parks have been basically set up at different administrative levels, covering an area of 634,000 square meters and more than 640 e-commerce enterprises have settled in them. Yichang, with the establishment of five Taobao villages, including Zhijiang Fairy Village and Yaojiagang Village, ranks first in number among the cities and states within the province. Last year, its five counties and cities including Yuanan County and Yidu City were shortlisted for the province's comprehensive demonstration counties in the e-commerce entering the countryside project, and Heyi E-commerce Industrial Park and Yiling E-commerce Industrial Park were approved as provincial e-commerce demonstration bases.

In order to raise the publicity of Yichang tea, to cultivate its customer base and to increase its sales, the city has taken different measures like holding Yichang online spring tea festival and an e-commerce platform resource docking forum, an “I love Yichang tea” Tik Tok contest, and strategic cooperation with eight e-commerce platforms such as Jingdong, Suning and Huofenghuang. Such efforts have helped to sell a total of 1,190 tons of Yichang tea online, with a value of over 100 million yuan. The city also organized 24 outstanding local agriculture-related e-commerce enterprises to participate in the 4th Wuhan International E-commerce and "Internet Plus" Industry Expo to expand online sale channels for featured agricultural products. Besides, more than 13,000 people have been trained throughout the year in its stepped-up efforts to train e-commerce talents. To be specific, the training program contained training 1,000 online merchants out of the emigrants, a training project for accurate poverty alleviation leaders, and special cross-border e-commerce training.
