On the morning of March 5, the Municipal Transportation Bureau held “Meeting Leifeng Model Taxi” activity in the parking lot of Junyao Square in Yichang city proper. 102 taxis were named “Lei Feng model taxi” and 7 taxi companies were flagged as “Lei Feng Model Taxi Fleet”.

　　Wang Huajun, a NPC deputy and “Lei Feng model taxi” driver said, “It is not only an honor but also a responsibility to get the title. My two deputy drivers and I are party members. We will provide passengers with high quality service all the time.”

　　The relevant person in charge of the city taxi federation of labor union introduced that large-scale volunteer activities such as “free pick-up of high school graduates”, “free take-home of blind people”, “pair-up with Paradise for the Disabled” have been carried out for many years. Since 2018, especially, the taxi industry has been recommending drivers who are willing to return money found, take delight in helping others, act bravely for a just cause, make earnest efforts to promote public good to the “honored board” every month. A total of 348 drivers have been selected in the last year.

　　In order to further carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng and promote the regularization of voluntary service activities in taxi industry, the municipal traffic comprehensive law enforcement detachment decided to award 102 taxis the honorary title of "Lei Feng model taxi".

　　The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Transportation Bureau said that they hoped that through this activity, the traffic image of Yichang would be fully displayed, leading the employees of taxi industry in the whole city to take advanced model as an example, abide by discipline and law, provide high-quality services, contribute to society, base themselves on their positions, establish a new image of traffic civilization, and advocate "learning from Leifeng, devoting to others, and promoting themselves" in an all-round way.(reporter Yan Xiaodong, Huang Lili; respondent Wang Yuanchao, Yu Weili)
