On March 13th, the reporter learned from Yichang Customs that it has fully implemented “Clearance Appointment over Internet” round the clock from March 1st.
After the implementation of this service, import and export consignors and consignees or their agents(untrustworthy enterprises excluded) who want to go through customs formalities for the national emergency relief supplies, dangerous goods, fresh, frozen and perishable goods requiring urgent clearance, and other goods that need urgent release after the approval of the customs outside the normal customs office hours, can choose customs clearance appointment over internet.
Applicants should log in to the integrated online platform (address: http://online.customs.gov.cn), and click the “Customs Clearance” under “Goods Clearance” module to fill in and submit appointment clearance online. The customs will give feedback online. Under special circumstances, applicants can submit the paper “Applicant for Customs Clearance” with the seal of the enterprises on the spot, which shall be coordinated by the customs in accordance with emergency disposal method.
If an enterprise cancels an appointment after the customs has agreed to the application for customs clearance, it needs to contact the customs in time and submit a statement within 5 days afterwards.
An official from the Yichang Customs said the application of “Clearance Appointment over Internet “service has greatly simplified the process of customs clearance, further optimized the business environment at the port thus building an easier clearance service and reducing the cost of both the customs and enterprises.(Reporter Yang Jing, correspondent Sun Furong)
