　　On March 26, it was learnt from the Special Promotion Meeting of the ADB-funded Yichang Comprehensive Old-age Service Demonstration Project and the PPP Demonstration Project that two projects had been completed in terms of the pre-project declaration and asset transfer work, formally entering the implementation stage, and 22 sub-projects were to start construction in batches, some of which were to start in October this year.

　　The total investment of PPP Demonstration Project for ADB-funded Yichang Comprehensive Old-age Service is 728 million yuan, of which the government invests 550 million yuan and the social capital 178 million yuan. The project, requiring 4 years to fulfill its construction, is planned to be completed in June 2022. According to the arrangement for the public construction part of the PPP demonstration project, it is scheduled to complete the project design and approval by the end of April, accomplish the examination and approval of construction drawings design in early July, initiate the bidding for social capital, complete the tendering of construction units in mid-September and start project construction in October.

　　The total investment of ADB-funded Yichang Comprehensive Old-age Service Demonstration Project is 1.932 billion yuan, 150 million yuan of which is funded by the ADB, and the rest comes from local supporting funds. The construction project includes six sub-projects: community service center for the aged, nursing home for the mentally-retarded elderly, geriatric hospital and geriatric nursing hospital, intelligent old-age service information platform, professionals training base for the old-age nursing and institutional capacity building. The project will start construction in batches according to the plan.

　　It is learnt that the completion of ADB-funded Yichang Comprehensive Old-age Service Demonstration Project will provide the elderly in Yichang City with diversified, professional and standardized old-age services, promoting the transformation of old-age services from "intermittent compensation" to "continuous benefit to all".
