On April2, Yichang Customs notified the public of the implementation of Yichang Free Trade Agreement in 2018. Last year, Yichang Customs and the Municipal Council for the Promotion of Trade issued a total of 5115 regional preferential certificates of origin, with a value of $264 million, reducing a tariff of about $13.19 million for our export enterprises.It greatly improves the international competitiveness of export enterprises of our city.

　　As the ID card of the commodity, the certificate of origin, with a reputation of “paper gold” in international trade, is the voucher for enterprises to enjoy the tariff reduction. “Angel Yeast issued 835 certificates of origin in 2018.” Zhou Yurong, senior director of Angel Yeast Baking International Business, told reporters that with this certificate, Angel’s main product --- the yeast enjoys a zero tariff and enters the market directly when exported to Malaysia and Vietnam. Without the certificate of origin, the yeast would have to pay a tariff of 15% on arrival in Malaysia. In other words, $1,500 of tariff would be imposed on goods with the value of $10,000.

　　To promote the city's high-quality production capacity and make traditional superior products “go out”, Yichang Customs will deepen the reform of issuing the certificate of origin.With measures of Internet + customs, national integration of certificate of origin, paperless filing and declaring, credit issuing and so on, the certificate processing will be easier and more accessible.
