The press conference of WDSF World Dance Sport Open and China Yichang Dance Sport Open is called on April 22, 2019. It will be held in Yichang Olympic Center Stadium from May 18 to 19.

　　The championship is an official international competition, the points of which will be collected in the WDSF; some groups’ points will also be collected in the annual Grand Prix of the China Dance sport Federation (CDSF). More than 100 teams from over 20 countries and regions will participate in the event, making it one of the dance sports with most foreign participants in China. The China-Europe youth group and the junior competition are set up in the competition for the first time. Meanwhile, the world's top six players, together with China Dance sport National Youth team and the National Olympic team, will be in the list.

　　The WDSF will send four respective pairs of ballroom dancers and Latin dancers led by the world champion, four respective pairs of the youth group and three respective pairs of the junior group to Yichang. The 2019 China Yichang Dance sport Open consists of groups that have entered the 2019 Point Competition in the CDSF and Yichang local featured groups. The Organizing Committee encourages local athletes to actively sign up for and watch competitions to improve dance sport skills.

　　According to the schedule, the opening ceremony will be held at 19:30 on May 18 at Yichang Olympic Center Stadium.
