From May 20th, passengers can enter the Yichangdong Railway Station directly with ID cards after buying G or D-bullet train, C-letter train tickets through the Internet in order to reduce the procedure of Internet ticket purchasers getting paper tickets and facilitate the entry, according to the reporters on May 18th.

　　Passengers get on the EMU by showing ID cards

　　On the morning of May 18th, all of the entrances and exits including the gate of entrance verification, tickets checkpoint and exit were available for passengers passing through by swiping their ID cards. Some passengers at the scene began to enjoy this convenience.

　　The staff told the reporter that passengers who boarded EMU(with G,D,C prefix) could enter the train directly with their ID cards, raising the efficiency of travelling.

　　What should we do without paper tickets when we meet the conductor to check tickets? The staff explained that the hand-held ticket checking machine on the train is networked with the station’s system. By checking passengers’ ID card, the relevant information can also be found.

　　The staff said that one should swipe his ID card four times when using second-generation ID card to board a train. They are personal information checking in the verification window of entrance, tickets checking in the gate, random checking by the staff in the carriage and ID card swiping in the exit gate.

　　Paper tickets needed for the common speed trains

　　But the staff said that tickets would still be required for common speed trains and under some special circumstances.

　　The staff explains that the starting stations or terminals of some common speed trains do not have automatic gates for swiping ID cards, so passengers must take paper tickets. In addition, some common speed trains are not equipped with ticket checking machine. Moreover, common speed trains provide sleeper compartments, and passengers need paper tickets in exchange for sleeper cards.

　　The staff also reminds passengers that paper tickets are required in following conditions:

　　When you use resident identification card to purchase tickets, you cannot show your original identity card or the card cannot be read on the automatic verification and ticket checking machine;

　　Use ID cards of fellows to purchase child tickets;

　　Purchase student tickets or preferential tickets of disabled soldiers(police);

　　Use other valid ID cards to purchase tickets;

　　Passengers can get paper tickets for reimbursement within 31 days

　　For passengers who need paper tickets for reimbursement, the staff explains that the ID cards actually play a role of electronic tickets and passengers who need reimbursement should get paper tickets with their ID cards in railway ticket window within 31 days from the date of boarding.

　　The staff reminds passengers especially that after the new policy, the ticket window and self-service ticket machine at the station are still working normally to meet the needs of passengers. Passengers can enter the station by swiping their ID cards only when they have not got paper tickets, otherwise, they must board trains with paper tickets.
