　　In 2018, Yichang carried out the Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Water Pollution and project of "Looking back" on the environmental problems of drinking water sources above the county level. Also, 67 water pollution reduction projects and 11 urban water body improvement implemented. We focused on building environmental protection infrastructure and pollution control projects. All 16 industrial parks at or above the provincial level were built centralized sewage treatment facilities, 31 municipal sewage treatment plants were completed bid upgrading and renovation, and 51 new municipal sewage treatment plants were built to achieve full coverage of sewage treatment plants in towns. We strengthened the control of rural non-point source pollution and livestock and poultry wastes, and completed 98 projects for the control of livestock and poultry manure. The ecological compensation mechanism of Huangbai River Basin was established and implemented to assess and cash the ecological compensation of 10 million yuan.

The excellent rate of water quality of nine sections in the Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Water Pollution is 100%. The total phosphorus concentration of three sections in Yichang of the Yangtze River mainstream decreased by 10%, 12% and 26.7% respectively. The comprehensive water quality rate of reaching targeted level of cross sections in Hubei Province is 97.6%; The water quality standard rate of centralized drinking water sources above county level is 100%.
