Yiling District Further Working on New Channels of Outlets of the "Belt and Road Initiative "
2019-06-12 17:35:33

Yiling District has guided the innovation mode of enterprises, and has expanded the export market by means of scientific and technological innovation, upgrading the irreplaceable nature of products, coordinating cross-border e-commerce to expand "cross-border trade", and further working on the new channels of outlets of the Belt and Road Initiative.

On May 26, more than 20 workers were stepping up installation of equipment in the manufacturing shop of Hubei Dongni Sanitary of Qingyi Industrial Park, Yaqueling Town.

Feng Wanyu, the head of the enterprise who just took 20 container orders from Korea, told reporters:"The high-end bathroom products such as smart toilets developed by the company are in short supply in the international market, and they have been ordered out before they are manufactured."

Feng Wanyu introduced that since March last year, the company has intensified technological innovation, independently developed seven patented new products, and invested 77 million yuan to build an intelligent sanitary production base in Yaqueling, where it enjoys convenient transportation, relatively low land and labor costs, specializing in the production of high-end sanitary products for export. In particular, the intelligent urinal, intelligent art basin developed by the company contains a number of patents with high added value and irreplaceability. Products with high-tech and low-cost have a very core competitiveness in the European and American market, while Japan, South Korea and some Southeast Asian countries are six months ahead of schedule orders.

Researchers of Rongsheng Food Company, one block away from Hubei Dongni Sanitary, are conducting a final verification of the company's newly developed jelly products. Prior to that, Rongsheng mainly produced canned oranges, focusing on exports to Europe and the United States. At the beginning of this year, the company actively adjusted the product mix and export structure that its newly developed jelly products have focused on the domestic market and the countries along the Belt and Road.

Zhang Yan, the person in charge of the "Koushuiyun" e-commerce platform, is busy at the Yaqueling Agricultural Products E-commerce Industrial Park, about 10 kilometers away from Rongsheng Food Company. At this time, he shoulders a heavy responsibility: to let local foreign trade enterprises such as citrus cans companies complete the new online trading mode in a short time, to achieve cross-border trade (B2B), and to significantly reduce the procurement costs of small and medium-sized overseas buyers.

Zhang Yan told reporters that there are many canned enterprises such as Rongsheng, Jiayuan and so on. This year, while guiding enterprises to actively open up markets such as Italy, Romania and France, the government at district and town levels has actively guided them to expand "cross-border trade" and substantially reduced the procurement costs of small and medium-sized overseas buyers through the new online trading model.

Peng Tao, Deputy Director of Yiling Economic and Commercial Bureau, told reporters that Yiling District is Yichang's major export area for foreign trade, mainly focusing on food, chemical, pharmaceutical and agricultural products. Last year, Yiling District has vigorously promoted the upgrading of products and the development of cross-border trade on the one hand. On the one hand, it has actively integrated into the "Belt and Road Initiative", expanded the economic and trade exchanges between enterprises and the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road", focused on strengthening trade cooperation with regions such as the European Union, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. From January to April this year, Yiling District’s import and export volume to the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" has increased by 10.6% over the same period last year.
