On July 11, Yichang signed a cooperation agreement with Wuhan Pepsi-Cola Beverage Co., Ltd. The Pepsi series beverage project with an annual output of 500,000 tons has settled in Yichang, becoming the first beverage production base established by PepsiCo (China)in non-provincial capital cities, as well as the production base of Pepsi Cola with the largest capacity, the most advanced equipment and the highest production efficiency in mainland China.Zhou Jiong, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, attended the signing ceremony.

　　Zhang Jiasheng, Vice Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Mayor and Ye Honghan, Chairman of Wuhan Pepsi Coke Beverage Co., Ltd. delivered speeches respectively. Liu Jianxin, Secretary-General of Municipal Committee, Wang Yinghua, Vice Mayor, Wang Yuancheng, Director of Management Committee of Yichang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Jiang Zhengxiong, Secretary-General of Municipal Government attended the signing ceremony.

　　The project covers an area of 150 mu and is located in the Bio-Industrial Park of Yichang High-tech Zone (Free Trade Zone). It adopts the most advanced equipment and automation production line in Asia-Pacific region. After the completion of the project, it can produce 500,000 tons of Pepsi Series beverages annually. Since then peoplecan a new Pepsi Cola production base with the largest capacity, the most advanced equipment and the highest production efficiency in mainland China.

　　It is understood that the signing and settlement of this project is of great significance for Yichang to fully implement the Central Committee's "Six Steady" work requirements(“Six Steady”means our government’s targets in employment, finance, foreign trade, introduction of foreign investment, other investment, some other tasks) and Pepsi China to improve the market layout in the Mainland.Previously, due to limited production capacity, Wuhan Pepsi have to dispatch product scheduling from Sichuan and Chongqing in order to meet the market demand of Hubei Province at each sales peak.For this reason, after in-depth research and comprehensive consideration of Yichang's location, environment and supporting advantages, PepsiCo (China)decided to build the second production base in Yichang, Hubei Province(the first production base in the non-provincial capital cities).

　　Reporters are informed that Wuhan Pepsi is one of the 23 beverage production bases established by PepsiCo (China)in mainland China. In 1996, it built a factory in Wuhan with a sales network covering all counties and cities in Hubei Province and towns with a scale of more than 30,000. It is the "leader" in the production and sale of carbonated beverages in Hubei Province.
