Yichang Introducing "Black Technology" for Ozone Detection
2019-07-24 16:21:26

The ozone concentration is measured in seconds to accurately locate the contaminated area. On July 11, the reporter learned from the Municipal Air Office that, in order to cope with the frequent ozone pollution in summer, Yichang introduced the “black technology” ozone monitoring and navigation equipment.

On the morning of July 11, the reporter saw the equipment in Wujiagang Branch of Municipal Eco-environment Bureau. Although it is only the size of a router, it is of high efficiency. The concentration of PM2.5, PM10 and ozone can be controlled instantaneously wherever the precise sensors are located.

When the equipment is connected to the 4G network, all the detection data can be transmitted to the laptop in real time, accurately locating ozone pollution areas. "Because Ozone does not affect visibility, it is difficult to detect by human senses." Du Xuewei, Director of the Environmental Protection Information Center of Wujiagang District, told reporters that before the introduction of the equipment, the determination of pollution sources had been relying on manual handling, which was extremely inefficient. Now, as long as vehicles with ozone detection equipment go out, the pollution situation can be well understood.

"The introduction of ozone detection navigational equipment has greatly improved our efficiency in finding pollution sources." Li Wuxun, Director of the Municipal Air Pollution Prevention and Management Center, said that with sufficient technical support, we could quickly and accurately locate pollution sources, achieve real-time monitoring, early warning, accurate source finding and efficient disposal, greatly improving work efficiency.

It is reported that the equipment has been piloted in Dianjun District and Wujiagang District, and has achieved good results. At present, the Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment has raised more than 200,000 yuan and purchased six new testing equipment to be popularized and applied in urban areas.
