The reporter learned recently from the Agricultural Department of Yiling District that 17500 tons of dry tea were produced in the whole district in the first half of this year, with a total output value of 1.035 billion yuan.10900 million tons of them was spring tea,with an output value of 655 million yuan. Compared with the same period last year, tea yield and its output value increased respectively by 5.2% and 10.4%.

　　It is learned that the tea production and marketing in Yiling District in the first half of this year mainly boomed due to the following reasons.Firstly, the opening time of tea-producing villages and towns in the whole district this year was slightly earlier than that of previous years. Jingjiang No. 1,the morning tea base in Taipingxi Town, started picking tea-leaves in the earliest time of February 28, which took the lead in the market.Secondly, Yiling District enjoyed basically stable climate as well a seven and plentiful precipitation in the first half of this year, which was very beneficial to the tenderness,growth and picking of tea leaves.Thirdly, enhancing their quality consciousness year by year,most tea processing factories had actively renewed their processing machinery and equipment, which constantly improved the quality of tea.Last but not least, the steady increase of summer tea made the industrial structure of tea in Yiling District more optimized and the distribution of profit space more balanced.
