"Tea can be sold at a good price as long as unified management is implemented without pesticides, fertilizers or herbicides." On July 12, Zhu Jiahu, a 57-year-old tea farmer in Caihua Township, Wufeng County, took part in the training of the European Tea Base Construction of the County Tea Bureau and then voluntarily asked to join the European Tea Base Cooperative Association established by seven key tea enterprises in the township.
Over the past few days, Wu Yunhui, deputy director of County Tea Bureau, and Fu Benxin, a senior agronomist, answered questions for the tea growers through practical cases. They urged that strict control of agricultural residues must be taken and the price of tea that meets the EU standards for export will be 10% higher than that of ordinary tea market. This year, the first batch of EU-standard tea bases in Wufeng County covers an area of 12,000 mu.
In order to improve the quality of tea in an all-round way, the county will vigorously promote and implement the integrated technology of “intelligence + bionics + physics + ecology”, “tea garden integrated high-quality cultivation technology”, “weight loss and efficiency-increasing technology” and tea garden “four machines” matching technology, so as to truly realize cost reduction, quality increasing and higher efficiency of tea plantation. Besides, Hubei Caihua Tea Co., Ltd. will take the lead in establishing the general cooperative of export tea base, which then will be responsible for the related technical guidance including unified prevention and treatment of project base, scientific and rational fertilization, medication and pruning management. In addition, it will also strengthen daily inspection and supervision and recycling of pesticide residues.
