On July 25, it’s learned that after half-a-year joint law enforcement inspection and comprehensive tourism environment improvement by the Three Gorges Working Committee, the Three Gorges Hub Security and Public Administration Department, and other units including Public Security Department and Traffic Police Department, Cultural and Tourism Department, Transport Management Department, the “Three unlicenseds” (unlicensed cabs, unlicensed tour guides and unlicensed tourism agencies) once plaguing the dam area have disappeared, and the administrative efforts have achieved initial result, with tourism complaints dropping significantly year on year.

　　“We’re not afraid of displeasing persons concerned or getting into trouble.” On July 24, Xiang Hui, the head of the law enforcement detachment of the Municipal Tourism Commission, who conducted on-spot law enforcement inspection in Three Gorges Dam Area, stated that from January to June, more than 1,800 law enforcement personnel were dispatched, and over 400 wrong-doers received legal education and were admonished, 60 plus people and more than 20 enterprises were warned of misconduct. And 21 cases of administrative punishment were handled, with 10 offenders under administrative detention and a fine of 138,600 yuan.

　　In the law enforcement, the departments and units including Municipal Three Gorges Working Committee, the Three Gorges Hub Security and Public Administration Department, the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, the Municipal Transportation Bureau, the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau, the Municipal Urban Management Committee, the Yiling District Government, Zigui County Government, the Yangtze Three Gorges Tourism Development Co., Ltd. formulated their law enforcement plans respectively, set up related leading group and special work teams, and deployed responsible, reliable and unyielding administrative personnel to carry out regular joint law enforcement.

　　In response to the “mobile illegal behavior” of some of the “three unlicenseds” and “rabbits” evading laws, the joint law enforcement special team has carried out mobile actions in Zigui County, Yiling District, expressway intersections, the airport, Yichangdong Railway Station etc. in addition to the on-site rectification in the Three Gorges Dam Area and the Three Gorges Tourist Center in order to strictly check the “common crimes” in the tourism market such as price fraud, false propaganda and illegal lane-taking operations, and to severely crack down on the chronic and stubborn tourism market ills such as the “three unlicenseds” and roadside car-blocking to solicit passengers.
