It is learned from the provincial government press conference on August 9 that the 10th China Yangtze Three Gorges International Tourism Festival will open in Yichang on September 6.

　　The theme of this tourism festival is “Majestic Yangtze River, Poetic and Picturesque Yichang”. During the period, a variety of events will take place, including the opening ceremony and cultural performance, the Chairman-in-Office meeting of the Three Gorges regional tourism cooperation between Hubei and Chongqing, tourism marketing activities, piano music activities (the 8th Yangtze River Piano Music Festival), the 7th Yichang (Yiling) citrus festival, economic and trade activities as well as investment promotion activities. The opening ceremony is to be held in the gymnasium of Yichang Olympic Sports Center on the evening of September 6. After the ceremony, a cultural performance will be staged to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China.

　　Compared with previous years, this tourism festival focuses on highlighting the theme of eco-Yangtze River and the achievements of Yangtze River eco-cultural tourism. For example, a series of cultural performances during the festival will show through varied programs a beautiful picture of green water and green hills on both sides of the Yangtze River, a new ecology of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and green development. The Chairman-in-Office Meeting of Hubei and Chongqing on Regional Tourism Cooperation of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River will focus on further cooperation in the protection the ecological Yangtze River, the strengthening of the cooperation and coordination mechanism and the promotion of tourism. The Yangtze River Eco-cultural Tourist Roadshow Week will promote the construction of ecological civilization and the development of tourism transformation in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River through cultural tourism exchanges between provinces and cities along the river.
