On August 23, a meeting was held at the municipal library for promotion of the implementation of “eco-citizen”project in the whole city, as is the first public welfare activity regarding the“eco-citizen” project in Yichang.

　　At the meeting, the first “Eco-citizen Stars”were announced, including Li Nianbang, the initiator of the Three Gorges Ant Workers Association for ecological and environmental protection, Liang Zhibo,general manager of Hubei Maoyuan Water Ecological Resources Development Co., Ltd.; Bi Jiapei, head of the Water Surface Cleaning Team of Huangbaihe River of Yiling District, Zeng Linglong, an inspector of Fishery Management Station of Changyang Tujia Autonomous County; Cao Dunxin, a teacher from the Cental Primary School of Mingfeng Town,Yuan’an County, Sang Ziyang, Director of the Forestry Institute of Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County; Gao Xinzhang, a member of the Institute of Dalaoling Nature Reserve Administration Bureau, Guo Biao, founder of the Yichang Xingshida Environmental Science and Technology Co., Ltd, Wang Dairong from the Huangjinka Community in Yiling District, Xue Chuangen, former chief of the Dike Management Section of Gujiayan Town, Zhijiang County.

　　During the lecture, Liang Zhibo, the farmer entrepreneur and ecological protection expert from Yidu County introduced his experiences of ecological and environmental protection, introduced his experiences of ecological and environmental protection. He has devoted himself to the research on integrated technology of water ecological restoration and experimental demonstration. With his efforts, the “Water Garden”was built to drastically improve the water quality of Guizihu Lake, which is now taken as an example for success of wetland eco-restoration with notable environmental, economic and social achievements.(Reported by Tian Xiaochun and Tao Cheng)
