It is learned from the Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision that on August 31 the national 12315 Internet platform has started running online whereby consumers can log onto the platform through computers, mobile phones, etc. to make online complaints.
After taking in five complaint report hotlines and platforms including industry and commerce, quality inspection, food and drug supervision, price supervision, and intellectual property rights, an integrated national 12315 Internet platform has been established to serve the public. Citizens need log onto one platform only to make complaints and protect their rights instead of calling different departments. The national market supervision department will rely on the platform to address consumer claims online. Through remote mediating, investigating and handling illegal activities, it will help to strengthen market credit and realize social co-governance of consumer rights protection.
Currently, citizens can have 24-hour access to the national 12315 Internet platform through computers, mobile phones, etc. The official website is www.12315.cn, the official cellphone APP is "National 12315 platform", and the Mini Program "12315" is also accessible on WeChat.
According to reports, since March 1, 2019, the Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision and Administration has received 773 complaints and reports from the public through the national 12315 platform, 336 pieces are concerned with food consumption, accounting for 43.5%; 99 pieces of groceries, taking up 12.8%; and 41 pieces of mobile phones, accounting for 5.3%. The major problems lay in quality, illegal advertising, after-sales service, infringement of consumer rights and interests, contract breach, unfair competition etc. (Reporter Gao Shengnan and Correspondent Jing Zhihao)
