The reporter learned from Xiling Traffic Police on September 22 that from now on, the illegal acts of riding electric bicycles and motorcycles not wearing safety helmet would be strictly monitored in accordance with regulations.

　　The reporter saw on the road yesterday that many people did not wear helmets when driving electric cars and motorcycles; some hang helmets on the front of the car but did not wear them, until they are checked by traffic police; some wear helmets without buckling clasps. All of these can be seen everywhere.

　　The police reminded that according to Item 7, Article 18 of the Regulations on Electric Bicycle Management in Yichang City, people shall wear a safety helmet when driving an electric bicycle or motorcycle. For illegal acts of not wearing safety helmets, according to regulations, Xiling Traffic Police will give the offenders 20 minutes to learn traffic safety regulations, 20 minutes to participate in traffic civilization persuasion on duty, and 20 yuan to be fined according to law.
