On September 19, the Zigui Tourist Transfer Center in the Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area was put into trail operation, which has brought a great change to the state that there was no direct route for the tourists to visit the Three Gorges Dam from the Quyuan’s Hometown Scenic Spot.

　　On the morning of the opening day in Quyuan’s Hometown Scenic Spot, over 500 tourists from home and abroad took sightseeing buses purchased the admission tickets to visit the Tanziling Mountain Scenic Spot, the 185M Sightseeing Platform and the Memorial Park of River Closure and returned to Zigui County by bus after their the whole tour, which was greatly facilitated by the convenience of transportation of the new route.

　　The number of tourists to the Three Gorges Dam has been increasing every year since free admission was conducted in 2014. The total number of the tourists is expected to exceed 3 million in 2019, which brings great challenges to the Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area in transportation, security management and reception capacity.

　　China Three Gorges Corporation and Yichang Municipal Government have reached an agreement that the tourist transfer at the scenic spot shall be distributed to 4 nearby towns, so as to alleviate the pressure of security guard and tourist reception and promote the growth of local economy. The overall planning of the tourism development pattern consisting of “the Area & Four Towns” as well as the relocation of the tourist transfer centers was launched in the first half of this year, and in the near future a new tourism development and management pattern around the Three Gorges Scenic Area will be forged, in which the “Area” refers to the Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area and the “Four Towns” include Maoping Town in Zigui County and Sandouping Town, Letianxi Town and Taipingxi Town in Yiling District.

　　When the planning of “One Area & Four Towns” is carried out, a comprehensive tourism performance demonstrative area integrated with the resorts of leisure and holiday making centering on the Three Gorges Project with 4 towns supporting around will be formed. Taking the advantage of this planning, Zigui, County close to the Three Gorges Project Scenic Spot is speeding up improving its capacity of accommodation, catering and parking to achieve it transformation and upgrading as a destination city in line with the development of the Three Gorges Project Scenic Area.
