On September 19, the broadcasting team of New China, a special program presented by China Global Television Network (CGTN, originally the English news channel—CCTVNEWS) came to Yichang for a live broadcast at the Three Gorges Dam and Parsons Music Corporation Group.

　　The program team in Yichang has held 4 television and new-media live broadcasts focusing on music industry and rural development of Yichang and the Three Gorges Dam. The first live show was aired in Parsons Music Corporation Group around 10 a.m. on the same day.

　　“There are many reasons why we choose Yichang,” said Zhao Yunfei, a CGTN reporter, “Yichang enjoys the reputation of world’s hydropower center and China’s piano city. Besides, Yichang represents the living status of the Chinese in both the perspectives of economic and cultural development.”

　　New China, as a special program presented by the CGTN for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, demonstrates the great achievements made in all the aspects in China and the economic and social growth since the founding of the PRC in 1949. This program is comprised of 3 live-broadcast teams, the southeast-China team of which will complete the program in Hubei Province, taking Yichang and Wuhan as the destination cities of broadcasting.
