On November 14th, the project of rebuilding T2 terminal and tourist service center in Yichang Sanxia Airport, one of the major project start-up activities in November 2019, was held in Xiaoting District. 12 projects with a total investment of 3.36 billion yuan started construction. The secretary of Yichang CPC Municipal Party Zhou Ji investigated the progress of the project. Zhang Jiasheng, the mayor and deputy secretary of the Yichang CPC Municipal Party Committee, attended the investigation.

　　At the site of the reconstruction and expansion project of the Sanxia Airport, Zhou Ji had an in-depth exchange with relevant responsible crews of HNA Group and Sanxia Airport after he hearing relevant reports. He pointed out, Yichang is an key node city in the Economic Belt of Yangtze River and an important pivot city in central China to accelerate the high-quality development. So promoting the project of the Sanxia Airport with high standards is significant for Yichang to accelerate the construction of a regional central city in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River and a world famous hydropower tourism city. We will always give priority to the airport's safety to ensure airport's safe operation by increasing quality and safety standards. Related enterprises should further work hard to improve the airport's core competitiveness and service quality to build high-quality brand. The relevant departments of Xiaoting District and the Yichang People's Government should create a sound environment for the smooth progress of the project to ensure that new parking apron and other facilities will be put into use in the Spring Festival, and to better meet the travel demand of citizens, tourists in Spring Festival and other holidays.

　　As the largest investment start-up project, the project of T2 terminal and tourist service center is the key project of the second-phase reconstruction and expansion project of the Sanxia Airport, which is being accelerated. Among them, the T2 terminal project is planned to invest 300 million yuan while the projects of tourist service center and transportation are planned to invest 650 million yuan. These are expected to be completed in September 2021. After the completion of the project, the area of Sanxia Airport terminal building will be expanded to 38,000 square meters, the newly added parking apron will be about 65,000 square meters, and the number of parking spaces will be increased to 21, which will guarantee 5 million passenger throughput annually and cargo and mail throughput of 14 thousand tons. These will significantly improve airport service support capabilities and service level.

　　It is understood that the 12 projects started on November 14th mainly involved industries and fields of transportation facilities, auto parts, new materials, new energy, and modern service. Among them, there are 1 major transportation infrastructure project with a total planned investment of 950 million yuan and 11 industrial projects with a total planned investment of 2.41 billion yuan. The 11 industrial projects include 7 industrial projects with a total planned investment of 1.69 billion yuan and 4 service industry projects with a total planned investment of 720 million yuan.
