It is learnt from Yichang Customs on Nov. 24 that the city's foreign trade from Jan. to Oct. has totaled 18.39 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8% over the same period of last year. In October, the total value of Yichang's import and export reached 2.77 billion yuan, an increase of 45.9%. The trade surplus in October was 2.19 billion yuan, an increase of 39.6%.
General trade mode is dominant, and bonded logistics mode is growing significantly. In October, the city's foreign trade volume reached 2.39 billion yuan (2.2 billion yuan for export and 190 million yuan for import), an increase of 47.5%, accounting for 86.3% of the total value of foreign trade in the same period. In terms of export commodities, the exports of mechanical and electrical products and traditional labor-intensive products are growing rapidly. In October, the export of mechanical and electrical products reached 660 million yuan, an increase of 2.5 times, taking up 30.6% of Yichang's total export value in the same period. The export of traditional labor-intensive products reached 340 million yuan, an increase of 2.8 times, accounting for 15.8%.
