2019-12-10 15:36:48

On Nov. 26, the first personal ticket of “garbage sorting” was issued by the Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau of Wujiagang District in Yichang city. A resident, living in North and South Tiancheng District, was fined 100 yuan for throwing waste at will and not classifying the garbage.

It was said that on the evening of Nov. 20, a citizen reported that there was some unsorted garbage thrown outside the trash can in the garbage sorting and disposal site nearBuilding No. 5 of Tianshiju in North and South Tiancheng District. The city inspectors on night duty in Wanshouqiao squadron immediately came to the spotwith staff of shipping community and community property to check the scene, and in the next day,via the playback of district surveillance video and multiple visits they identified a male resident who dropped the garbage. After the Wanshouqiao City Management staff popularized relevant laws and regulations of Yichang domestic waste classification and management measures to him, the man said that because his refrigerator didn’t work and there were a lot of clothes and sundries that needed to be discarded, he thought it was troublesome tosort the garbage. Besides, the garbage bag was too big to put into the trash can, so he justthrew it outside the can. After receiving the ticket, he said he would never take any chances to dispose of trash at will again.

“Penalty is not the ultimate aim. We mainly hope to improve residents’ awareness of dropping garbage in light of classification and relevant regulations and promote the deduction of our city’s domestic garbage from source through the punishment of irregular domestic waste disposal this time,” said the officials of the City Management Committee, “the garbage sorting must be strictly implemented in accordance with relevant laws and regulations rather than empty words.”(Reporter Zhenglu, Correspondent Huangyulian, Chenzan)
