As the Chinese New Year is approaching, the demand for sturgeonsis on therise. In the SturgeonValley of Qingjiang, located in Honghuatao Town, Yidu City, workers are busy packaging caviar,which will be sent to different places, includingBeijing and Shanghai at home, and the Middle East, Europeand Americaabroad.
“Sixsteps will be taken in processingfish eggsinto caviar, of which the first and foremost step is to give an ID to each fish.The wholeprocessmust be finished within 15 mins to ensure the freshness of caviar. Mr. Toufani, the royal caviar master fromIran, is invited to be in charge. Besides, the selenium-rich Qingjiang water and the patented sturgeon breeding technologycan also guarantee thequality of sturgeon eggs.In thesalting process, only the right amount of pure salt is added for seasoning.” Wang Xiaozhong, the workshop director of the Sturgeon Valley, saysthat because of itsfirst-class quality, thecaviaris quite popular in global market. In theyear of 2019, the company produced about 30 tons of caviar, 80% of which were sold to high-end markets in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. “Now a series of sturgeon products of the company, with thecaviaras the knockout product, have already been acknowledged by international customers.”
It is said that the project of the Sturgeon Valley in Qingjianis to be constructed in three phases. The first phase hadbeen completed in April, 2019, aiming to explorethe “photovoltaic power generation + sturgeon breeding” model to provide a good livingenvironment for sturgeon and maximize comprehensive benefits.
“At present, the second and third phases of the project are under construction. After the project is completed, the annual output of the sturgeon canreach 4,500 to 5,000 tons, and the annual output of caviar more than 50 tons. It is expected to achieve an output value of 210 million yuanand provide job opportunities for 200 people.” According to Wang Xiaozhong, the Qingjiang Sturgeon Valley is striving for being the largest sturgeon base in Chinaas well as the world’slargest caviar exporter.
