On December 26, the Hubei Institute of Aeronautics Project officially started in Qiaobian Town，Dianjun District. After the project is basically completed and the bid is successfully established, an applied private undergraduate college will be added in Yichang.

　　Hubei Institute of Aeronautics is a joint venture established by Wuhan Millennium Corporation and HNA Aviation Group. It is a privately-run university with a general application level and a scale of about 10,000 undergraduate students.

　　The project is planned to cover an area of 1,000 acres and constructed in two phases. The initial planning is 2 to 3 years with The total planned investment of 1 billion yuan. The total construction area is about 170,000 square meters, the university has about 20 majors and about 5,000 students. The initial construction project is expected to take shape in October 2020. It will welcome the review expert groupset up by the Ministry of Education to the university to do the evaluation project, strive to win the bid by the end of next yearand start to recruit students in the fall of 2021. The later periodproject is planned for 5 years, about 30 majors are planned to run and strive to basically achieving the goal of enrolling 10,000 students.

　　This project has been included in the key projects of the "13th Five-Year Plan" for education development in Hubei Province and Yichang City. After the successful implementation, it will further improve and optimize the structure of higher education in our province, enrich the types of professional structure of universities, and make up for the shortcomings of the lack of education resources for aviation undergraduate majors in our province. At the same time, it will help to cultivate high-level talents for flight technology, aviation engineering construction and civil aviation transportation management, which are urgently needed for the development of civil aviation transportation industry, as well as application-oriented technical talents, which are urgently needed in the field of aviation tourism, financial management and information field in Yichang and provide talent support for the development of aviation industry.
