More Than 12 Million Tons of Cargo Crossing the Three Gorges Dam Last Year

  On the evening of January 5, 1000 commercial vehicles arrived fromtheupstreamcity ofChongqing and loaded at Maoping Portof Zigui Countyon the dam. They arrived in Baiyang Port by trucksand waited to beloadedagainand transported to Wuhan. This again marks the beginning ofcommercial vehicles crossingdamin the form of "waterway-highway-waterway"in 2020 andalso marks the continuous acceleration of the operation ofcrossing transportation systemofthe Three Gorges Dam.

To this end, Yichang Construction Investmentcooperatedwith COFCO, will sell trade grains stored in ports or in transitbyelectronic bidding through the National Grain Exchange Center. The annual grain transaction volume reached 370,000 tons, with a transaction value of 733 million yuan.

The more robust demand for dam crossings has led to the need to continue the construction andaccelerate theoperation of the Three Gorges Dam transportation system. "Yang Dan, chairman of the Three Gorges Logistics Company affiliated to Yichang Construction Investment, said thattheywill actively connect ChongqingGuoyuanPort, Wuhan Yangluo Port, and ShanghaiYangshanPort, actively integrate into the construction of new land and sea corridors in the west, accelerate the improvement of the multimodal transport system of the Three Gorges Hub, andacceleratethe construction of Yichang Port-type National Logistics Hub.

  To be specific, Yichang Construction Investment continued to take Yichang as the only city in the central region selected as a port-type national logistics hub as an opportunity to accelerate the construction of infrastructures such as the Shugang Railway,port terminals, logistics parks, oil and gas pipelines, and to build Jiangnan and Jiangbei damcrossing high-speed highway, the Three Gorges damcrossingtransportation with the main contents of “two roads, two ports, two railways and one pipe” such as Maoshang Port on the dam, Baiyang Port under the dam, Maoping, Baiyang Shugang Railway, and Jiangnan Product Oil Turnover Pipeline.The system provides a more comprehensive solution for the rapid passage of goods through the dam, and jointly builds a golden economic belt with smoother traffic.
