On March 24, a comprehensive disinfection of public facilities was carried out, covering Yichangdong Railway Station, Yichang Bus Center, Three Gorges Tourist Center and other ports and stations, with a total area of 276,000 m2, according to requirements of Yichang’s Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarter, so as to make adequate preparations for orderly resumption of Yichang’s transportation.
At 9 a.m., 51 firefighters dressed in protective clothing, carrying sodium hypochlorite disinfectant, carried out disinfection with the double-tube pulse mist machines on passages of entrance and exit inside station, entrance and exit, waiting hall and other public areas of Yichangdong Railway Station covering the area of 110,300 m2.
"This disinfection is planned as a whole by Yichang’s Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarter while it is operated jointly by Urban Management, Health, Fire, Transport, Public Transport, YichangDong Railway Station, Three Gorges Airport and other departments. The environmental improvement group staff of headquarters, Gong Wanbai introduced that Three Gorges Airport will also be disinfected for 57,000 m2since March 25 and total area of disinfection will reach to 333,000 m2.
In addition to mass disinfection of the whole city, individual daily disinfection of each port and station will continue. There are six full-time staffs who disinfect the closed area every three days, outbound channel and platform every day at the Yichangdong Railway Station. After the reopening of the station, disinfection work will remain regular. At the Yichang Bus Center, a comprehensive disinfection will be done every morning and evening out of the passenger flow peak at the ticket office, waiting hall and other public areas, every hour to self-service ticket machines, ticket checking machines and other facilities to ensure the maximum degree of passenger traveling safety, health and order.(Reporter, Tian Xiaochun)
