At 7:30 am on March 26th, with the “Blue Star Ferry No.1” slowly departing Gulaobei Ferry of the urban zone of Yichang City, Yichang’s ferry which had been suspended for almost two months due to the epidemic resumed operation officially.
The law enforcement officer of Maritime Department of Yichang Maritime Administration said that all ferries in main zones of Yichang have stopped since 14:00 pm, January 26thfor the prevention and control of coronavirus. With the situation improving, the epidemic prevention and control headquarters in Xiaoting District approved the application of ferry resumption on March 24th. After a series of preparations such as “safety checks on ships”, “staff epidemic prevention knowledge training” and “overall disinfection on ships”, the “Blue Star Ferry No.1” resumed operation officially on 26, March.
The ferry director said that after the resumption, the daily operation time wasnow from 7:00 am to 18:00 pm and the ferry wasavailable only for manned-vehicles, non-automatic vehicles and motor-bicycles; the capacity per voyage couldn’t go beyond 70% of the ferry’s passenger quota; passengers should show the Hubei Health Code or the Green Code in other provinces, then could be boarded after the on-site temperature measurement; passengers should buy tickets through Wechat or Alipay due to no cash; after boarding, passengers should wear masks the whole time, keep a safe distance of more than 1 meter from each other and obey epidemic prevention and control requirements.
