“Three promotion and one prohibition” Scheme to kick off

  On April 13, the Yichang Municipal Civilization Office and the Yichang Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau jointly issued 2020 Special Action Scheme of "Three Promotion and One Prohibition" for catering industry in Yichang (hereinafter referred to as the "scheme"), and have decided to implement systems of using public chopsticks and spoons, washing hands before meals, keeping kitchen bright and forbidding eating wild animals.

  The "Scheme" requires that public chopsticks and public spoon system be implemented, and the catering service units actively provide public chopsticks and public spoons, and set up "public chopsticks and public spoon racks". "one dish, one chopstick, one soup and one spoon". The public consciously dine by using public chopsticks and spoons under the guidance; hand washing equipment and other sanitary products such as basins, hand sanitizer and wet napkinare essential to all. Bold remindersmust be postedin the dining room and restaurant staff are obliged to remind consumers before meals. Camera-based, transparent, open and network-driven kitchen constructionare highly recommended. Food processing and ingredient information are required toactivelypublicize under the supervision from the society. Say no towild animals. Illegal transactions and consumption of wild animals are strictly prohibited,including purchasing, storing, processing or selling wild animals.

  According to the scheme, the publicity training of the "three promotion and one prohibition" will be achieved full coverage among all catering units in the city by April. At least 50 pilot spots of public chopsticks and spoon systemare to be set up inthe city center, counties, Dianjun District and Xiaoting District andno less than 100 pilot spots in Yiling District, Xiling District, Wujiagang District and High-TechDistrict, amounting to95% of prevalence rate of hand washing before meals in all catering units. By the end of August, more than 95% of the city's catering units will have implemented the first two systems, and more than 50% of the catering units will have implemented the bright kitchen system, among which, canteens in schools, organ units, elderly nursing institution, tourist attractions and star hotels, large and medium-sized catering units, and central kitchen will have achieved full coverage. Additionally, special law enforcement inspection will be carried out to prevent the occurrence of the purchase, processing and sale of wild animal food by catering units.
