On April 22, the first 5G base stationof Yichang was rolled out in the Yiling District, which is thus being the 5Gnetworkdemonstration base station of the city. And it is being debugged right now.

　　“As the major new-type infrastructure to bolster the digitalized, networked and intellectualized transformation of theeconomy, the5G network program is forging a new-round revolution in science and technology as well as in industry. It has not only played a pronounced part in the pandemic prevention and control, and resumption of work and production, but also presents a great potential in these aspects covering stabilized investment, promoted consumption, boosted upgrade, and developed new impetus for economic growth.”said Wu Hua, the manager of the Yiling District branch of China Telecom Corporation. As the latest generation of mobile communication technology, 5G network is markedly characterized by high data rate, large capacity, low latency, and cloud-enabled core network, of which its latency reaches milliseconds, and its massive connection capacity presents 10-to-100 times of the current equipments, and its transmission rate hits 1Gb/s, 10 times faster than that of the4G network.

　　The manager of Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and Commerce in Yiling District reveals that, the emergence of 5G base station will exert a positive impact on the life and production of theYiling Districtand present a powerful backupof Internet for high-quality development in its economy. The 5G network will closethe distance between equipmentsand management to substantially enhance the production efficiency of industries, which will play an active role in attracting investment andinvestorsand in creating a pro-business environment.
