On May 18, the first batch of Valencia Orange exports from Zigui to Canada, with the weight of 4,800 kg and the value of 48,325 yuan, went through thecustoms clearance.

　　Citrus is the first brand fruit in Hubei province, the exported agricultural product in Yichang as well. At the beginning of this year, Russia and Kazakhstan suspended the import of Chinese citrus fruits. After the COVID-19 outbreak, the situation has become even worse.

　　To consolidate the positive trend of foreign trade development of agricultural products, Yichang customs has takenthe initiative to appointcoordinators, carryingout the "no meeting" business handling, "no presence" inspection mode, "no contact" visa mailing and other measures to ensure "zero delay" in customs clearance, and urgingenterprises to shoulder responsibilities. Besides,theyhavestrengthenedconfidence, seizedopportunities, expandedthe market, and promotedthe diversified and high-quality development of the export of characteristic agricultural products.From March to April this year, citrus from Zigui exports bucked the trend, with anexport volume of 175 tons, an increase of9.4% on a yearly basis, while the value rose by 52.1% on a yearly basis to 254,000 dollars during the same period.
