Workers are seen doing preparation work for machines to enter into tea processing plant newly-built in Yichang Qingxigou Tribute Tea Co., Ltd., Wuduhe Town, Yiling District on July 4th. This plant will be putting into production in August, whose annual production of dry tea is expected to reach 300 tons, with an output value of more than 20 million yuan.
In recent years, development of tea industry has accelerated while the whole city from low hills to high mountain about 1200 meters above sea level are planted tea. Wufeng, Yiling, Yidu and other 9 counties (cities, districts) have formed a relatively large-scale production.
The tea processing system has been constantly promoted while there are 1220 tea processing plants and 18 modern processing parks for demonstration in the whole city. The layout of primary processing plants is reasonable. Now there are 13 enterprises with annual processing output value of more than 100 million yuan and 70 enterprises with annual processing output value of more than 10 million yuan, among which 3 are national leading enterprises and 21 are provincial leading enterprises.
