On July 1, it was learned from Yichang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment that the annual goal of improving air quality had been achieved in advance. The average concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 were 33 and 18 micrograms per cubic meter respectively in June with a decrease of 35.3% and 33.3% year on year. From January to June, the cumulative average concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5 were 57 and 43 micrograms per cubic meter with a decrease of 31.3% and 33.8% year on year respectively. The ratio of good days was 84.1% with an increase of 19.5% year on year.
Taking the ozone pollution regulation and control as the major task, Yichang has implemented a series of measures to win the battle against air pollution including held meetings on preventing and controlling air pollution, secretly inspected 14 counties and issued the Forewarning about the Battle against Air Pollution and Provisional Measures about Performing Responsibilityin Yichang,etc.
According to Plans on Strengthening Regulation and Control on Ozone Pollution in 2020 in Yichangissued by Yichang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, daily supervision and temporary control have been strengthened on pollution sources produced by key industrial enterprises, vehicle maintenance stores or factories and so on. Law enforcement forces and third-party inspection forces are asked to coordinate among city and county government. Up to now, a total of 130 cases has been found and corrected. Besides, plans and technologies about how to reduce pollution will be shared with enterprises.
In order to monitor air pollution, Yichang has carried out projects such as installing fixed telemonitoring equipment for motor vehicle and building automatic monitoring station in key industrial parks, which is aimed at building an all-round and three-dimensional monitoring and regulatory network by means of advanced technology.
